About

Being a parent isn’t easy. Being a “stay-at-home” parent can be downright difficult. Our challenges can’t always be articulated or, when they are, can seem utterly trivial to those who work equally hard in a traditional workplace. For stay-at-home dads, we also deal with issues of ego and finding our place despite long-standing social norms.

This blog will attempt to address some of these challenges, give a forum to share ideas, and help us to understand that we are not alone. We can all be better parents. Whether father, mother, breadwinner, or caregiver, we all have a lot to learn.

I have been a stay-at-home dad since my 4-year-old twins were just over a year old. While I wish I had started this chronicle then, I look forward to contemplating my past foibles and considering how I have learned and grown along with my kids.
